A mum of two and a general Julia, I'm a Public Liability Insured local artist, face and body painter and glitter tattoo-ist.
Qualifications and experience:
I have trained with some of the world's foremost celebrated face and body artists, but no art degrees or masters here. After getting a D in my art 'O' level at 16 I gave up hope of going on to study art and went and got a 'sensible'job!
There really wasn't much that would stop me drawing and painting on anything that sat still though, and within 2 years I was regularly being commissioned to paint one of a kind t-shirts,
make little pieces of jewellery, and draw up company logos and tattoo
designs too!...so aged 18 (over 30 years ago!) I started my first
little art and gift business.
Being the creative sort, I have continued to find ways in all avenues of my work, hobbies, and home to paint, draw, make, design, sew, embellish, alter, and play with. I have learnt from books, life, friends, meditation, art groups and the internet and never stopped taking on a myriad of little commissions.
From portraits to abstracts, decorative books to jewellery, from rainbow coloured hair dyeing to tie dyeing!
I have even designed printable games about mental health and neurodiversity, and my own set of meditation cards!
Nowadays, as well as entertaining children, I am an advanced Drawing and Talking play therapy facilitator, and often support my adult coaching clients to explore through art too.
So here we are, over 30 years on from a D in my 'O' level! I work with children and adults alike, often bringing heaps of art materials with me, and still love every working day :)
